Our story

A few years back, on an adventure in the forests of Oregon, we saw our first wooden fire look-out, rising all the way up to above the trees.

That moment something clicked inside of us, and our eyes stuck like magnets: the architectural symmetry, the natural materials, the size and the slim under-construction - They were such a treat to the eye.

But it wasn't just the design. There was more: The idea of making the transition over the stairs, up to the top, followed by the wide and new perspective onto the world.

Stillness, silence and true privacy. All true qualities, caught in one space.

With that fire look-out in sight, I suddenly knew it for sure: I want nothing else than creating that kind of spaces. Unique spaces that excist for joy, silence and reconnection.

Back home I started with an assignment for the Amsterdam City Campground. It was the most joyful process with the nicest people, and it led to an amazing and affordable design. 

And guess what! It got nominated for a large contest! That click in Oregon did definately click for a reason. And I'm truely happy it did.
